Chapter 9: Reprieve Part Two
With quarantine prisons going up at the end of January on the excuse of ‘variants’ excuse it remained an open question why Trudeau kept the boarders open for 11 months before he decided to close them and force people into quarantine prisons. Maybe it was hard to draft bills while on his many vacations. Or perhaps it was the closed Parliament closed for extended periods of time before opening it to reduced numbers over the summer. It was an emergency! So much so that the legislative house could not be relied upon, and the Trudeau Liberals refused to release a budget for over a year. Instead, in March they attempted to bully the opposition, as they were in a minority government, to give them tax and spend discretion for over two years (till December 2021) because “it’s an emergency!”1
Never let a crisis go to waste, Anti-Asian conspiracy theories just one month earlier was now a complete and full emergency. Trudeau attempted to use the emergency to secure a majority government. Despite the rebuke by the Canadians populace rebuked the blackfacing fool by that downgraded him to a minority government. Although his efforts were eventually blocked, the NDP stepped up to rubber stamp crazy policies and spending. However, this was not good enough for Trudeau. He decided to use several Order In Councils (OIC) to push through his bizarre hatred of military type assault rifle’ that has no meaning other than ‘big scary gun’ even if that gun is an airsoft rifle or a coffee company website.
Trudeau enjoyed the covid pandemic, smoking pot in his home office. Giving speeches about ‘building back better’ as a dog whistle to the World Economic Forum (WEF) because he managed to use the extra time to skim through Klaus Schwab’s Bizzarro anti-responsibility book. Sure, he could no longer vacation around the world but when you can travel across Canada to Tofino for some surfing. Or maybe catch up on some Netflix. Trudeau stop shaving and refuse to cut his hair (oh how virtuous), living the dream life of any 12-year-old. He may have gotten into the snacks a bit too. No longer was there a possibility of tough questions since virtual pressers allowed the government to screen the pressers and for “safety” prevented any problematic questions. Life was good for Justin Antoinette; ‘Just let them smoke pot, man!’
But while Trudeau languished his cabinet was busy. Eco-fascist Minister of Canadian Heritage Steven Guillbeault developed bill c-10 that sought to destroy the internet like how the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunication Commission (CRTC) ruined Canadian tv and radio.2 Free communication and exchange of ideas? Not on the Liberal Party’s watch! Neuter the internet. Pushing ‘hate-speech’ regulations that are aimed at political opposition such as Rebel News or True North or other independent news organizations that do not rely on blood money from the government. Oh, but it does not stop there. No, Eco-terrorist Guillbeault also sought to police any post made by individual Canadians on the internet. Get your VPN now! The guy that used violence to achieve his eco-fascist goals is going to decide what is hate and what is not.
The quarantine prisons were set up at local hotels around Canada within driving distance from the airports. The government after denying the existence of these quarantine prisons now admitted ‘it was happening and it’s a good thing!’ But they are “quarantine hotels”. The Radisson is one popular hotel brand that transformed into a quarantine prison. Hotels were of course, like every other business, having a tough time. People were told not to travel, and they did not. The media and politicians are another story. Apparently, lockdown gives people the extreme need to violate their own policies. This left many hotels empty and struggling for money. The ability to receive government money and house the few travelers at a fixed rate was salvation for business near bankruptcy. Forcing individuals to stay at the hotels was too good to pass up for many of these hotels. This program has been adopted for the flood of migrant chancers into Western countries, with more freedom for the migrants.
Of course, these convoluted policies were terribly implemented by the government leading to a lot of confusion. Essentially, the government requested a test upon landing (which if it penetrates the body appears to be against the Charter) and requested (then required) persons enter a quarantine prison until their results came back.3 If the result came back negative, then they could go home and finish 14-day quarantine at home (even though you are negative….). If you had a positive test, you were forced to finish your 14-days at the quarantine prison. All of this was done at the expense of the traveller (essentially a travel tax) with a price of $1500 to $2000 for a three day stay.
Chris Sky gained fame over the summer for throwing protests at Chery Beach that were thinly vailed raves.4 Seething reporters from propaganda outlets like CBC, the red star and BlogTO fumed about the beach parties, posing for photos with police officers, and passing out “fake mask exemption” cards. Two men, likely disturbed and possibly spurred on by propagandists used Chainsaws to destroy their DJ booth on August 10th.5 Sky started a group called Mother’s Against Distancing (MAD). He gained international fame and scorn for his Instagram account on which his posts derided the governments policies on Covid. Mr. Sky received many fines and treated them with contempt. He told his followers that none of these tickets will hold up in court and referred to tickets as toilet paper.
On February 23, 2021, Rebel News’ David Menzies reported on Chris Sky’s journey through Pearson airport security. He refused any covid test and received a fine. Otherwise being allowed through the airport without being taken to a quarantine prison.6 This defiance of the covid orthodoxy could not be tolerated as a month later while trying to board a flight Sky found himself refused as he was placed on the no-fly list.7 The no-fly list used on terrorists (like Omar Khadr) has become a weapon of oppression and political tool to punish political dissidents to the current government or persons against the political class (the swamp). Mr. Sky continued to be a thorn in the side of the political class during the next few months. He organized protests masking and other unconstitutional laws, NPIs (lockdowns) across Canada.
Rebel News covered the quarantine prisons even going so far to have former reporter Keean Bexte report from inside a hotel on March 3, 2021.8 Bexte reported the pricing, the lack of service, food was served several hours late, and the terrible food was disgusting. He noted the silly rules and guidelines, such as warnings against posting onto social media or contacting family members. Bexte had a pleasant experience by the quarantine prison standard. Many had much worse experiences. Stories emerged of people left without food for over 6 hours. Not provided with vegan/vegetarian/allergy compliant options or hotel staff ignored prisoners. In March, disturbing details emerged of locks that were removed from the doors of the hotel rooms from at least one quarantine prison in Montreal. This led to the sexual assault of ‘Sarah’ by Robert Shakory and the staff took 15 minutes to respond to her call for assistance. On April 26th, 2021, a Federal judge (William Pentney) ruled these quarantine hotels were a ‘rational response’ to Covid risk and then promptly go hide under his desk like a coward.9 Pentney accepting the logic that a mandatory stay in a hotel with lack of food and threats of legal and financial consequences is not a prison. It is just a hotel that these people deserved for travelling during covid. Guess the skirt was a bit short. Right Pentney?
If persons quarantined at home the federal government hired private security to go around checking to ensure that they were ‘quarantining correctly.’ One of these quarantine officers in Ontario attempted to extort and sexually assaulted an Ontario woman.10 The police arrested the security officer but the information about the identity of the assaulter or which security firm he was associated with was not reported. The Public Health Agency of Canada refused to answer questions on the matter. Of course, CBC and blood money media knew to ask no more questions. Trudeau’s sham isolation.
In February 2021, more models11 were released on the variant concerns. The models showing an exponential rise in cases for lifting, maintaining, or adding harsher lockdown measures. Were any of the models accurate? There is any time when the models were accurate? Even with stricter measures imposed the cases went up, deaths rates remained level. Modelers and politicians got paid for another failure. Extra measures were enacted and somehow cases went up. Surely, we just did not believe hard enough in the covid policies!
Students in Isolation
During the lockdown students we’re kicked pit pf schools and thrown into “virtual learning” online during the end of the 2019-2020 year. Some students were able to go back to school ‘in person.’ Other students opted to attend virtual school for the 2020-2021 year. Online or virtual classes are not the same as attending classes in school. The rare students can thrive online, the majority suffer and struggle. The social aspect was also removed, which led to a sharp decline in mental health. Lost opportunities and inability for schools to provide care. Like it or not, schools have become the primary source of assistance for many students who are in need or abused. Students felt isolated in the virtual school. Extracurricular clubs and sports were all but cancelled. While sports and hobbies were generally cancelled if they did not include video games.
Is it wise to have students on video games at all times of the day and actively discourage them from going outside? Considering the unmistakable evidence that was available in the weeks following the initial lockdown; the slow crushing machine of public health and politicians refused to change course without significant backlash. Summer jobs and ‘non-essential’ jobs were canceled further stunting development of many teenagers. The message from the government was loud and clear. ‘Stay home and eat.’ Evil government propagandists tried to spin ‘couch slob’ as a heroic narrative to shake up the fear propaganda. Even those that were able to work often had to wear masks, or face shields and masks for extended periods of time.
Even simple things like going for a swim was not allowed during the infamous summer of 2020 when cases were near non-existent. Ignore the use of chemicals in pools to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, shut it down. Some pools did open but mandated masks while swimming. No that is not a mistake. Masks or waterboarding was part of the covid experience. On the one hand the lockdowns crippled the propaganda released by the public school system, but Tik Tok and Instagram are not much better for disinformation. Of course, for someone in favour of banning smart phones for all students under 16 and against propagandising students into partisan political activism neither are terribly appealing.
The policies around in person schooling pushed anyone to re-consider online schooling. Mandatory masking for all students in grade 1 (age 6) to grade 12.1 Based on dubious science of increase masking causing a decrease in cases without evidence to support this.2 As per the bylaw, all Ontarians were eligible to be exempt from wearing a mask based on specific criteria. But as mentioned previously most businesses, bylaw officers, police and governments interpreted the law to remove the mask exemption. As lawyer Rocco Galati explained in a press conference May 1st, 2021, the law says one thing and police are being told to interpret it as something different.3 Galati looked to bring court proceedings on behalf of fifteen officers (and four former officers) over the directions to police to break the law and constitution.
Rebel News reported on Durham Public school, Glen Street Public School in Oshawa, Ontario, who refused to recognize Chris Hopps’ and his children’s mask exemptions. He received a trespass order for his child’s school.4 Or at Our Lady of Grace (Simcoe-Muskoka Catholic District School Board) catholic school in Angus, Ontario. Melissa Cippone jumped through all the crazy hoops set up by the board, getting a doctor’s note for her children’s mask exemption. The principle and board gave Melissa the run around, eventually demanding more information about the children’s medical condition (which is none of their business, nor their right to know) on top of a doctor’s note. One of her children was in kindergarten. Masks are not required by the Ontario government in this age range.5 As per usual the policy went “above and beyond” the legal requirements. Normally, that would be called violating the law.

To add upon this disregard for the law, outrage rocked the Ford government when tweets of some parents worried about their children who were self-isolating went viral. According to government public health and school regulations, students in a class in which someone tests positive for Covid (or someone close to those students/teacher) were directed to “isolate in a separate room” for 14-days and keep to a distance of two metres from other family members.6
Montreal vlogger David Freiheit (Viva Frei) brought further attention to the now deleted tweets of heart-breaking stories of young children begging to be let out of their rooms to see the rest of their family.7 Peel Public health ‘clarified’ that the ‘product’ (the health advisement sheet recommending students must isolate for 14 days) was in ‘error’.8 Peel Public Health stated that parents should isolate children, but one parent should be isolated with them. This of course was a change without much distinction except to attempt to blame parents for misunderstanding their wonderful orders. Children are very unlikely to spread covid. Children also, rarely have ill effects from Covid. Professor Byram Bridle questioned the logic and damage that these policies had on children.9 Other adopted a “don’t ask, don’t tell policy.”
Québec Sous Couvre-Feu
On January 5th, 2021, Premier François Legault of Quebec announced a curfew starting on January 9th between 5:00 am to 8:00pm for the next four weeks. The maximum fine was set at $6,000. A curfew? For what? For covid of course! Covid was quite accommodating, you see, it only came out at night. The Quebec government threw a dart at the board and cette idée folle was hatched and then implemented. Homeless persons were not even except from the curfew until an emergency court order was filed and not contested by the government.1 This came after 51-year-old Raphaël André was found dead in a portable toilet to avoid the curfew police. Homeless shelters had been forced closed due to covid restrictions.2 Another person sacrificed at the feet of endless and pointless covid policies for nothing but good public image. Incompetent scientists in their white lab coats and lockdown politicians desperate to sneak off for a covid vacation
Some had the crazy idea that curfews were better at riot prevention then disease transmission prevention. Perhaps our betters in Public Health surpassed our knowledge? Covid was mindful of the time and was a good enough chap not to infect people during the day, but at night he rose from his grave to kidnap the virgin! Doctor Horacio Arruda (Quebec’s public health director) admitted that there was no evidence that the curfew stops transmission.
Viva Frei documented the curfews with a video series called ‘Viva on the Street’. He talked about covid news while walking his dog. Walking a dog happened to be one of the ways to get outside after curfew (within a designated distance). His first video of Viva on the street was released on January 10th, 2021. While he walked around an empty Montreal during a cold windy winter night, he made the bold prediction that the curfew would not end in 30 days. Discussing Quebec news and talking about the fines being issued towards homeless people he predicted the inevitable tragedy. He continued this informative series that essentially morphed into a documentation of the rise of Canada’s police state. He also coined the term ‘Sunshine Thief’ for Premier Legault.
The Curfews of course were not just four weeks. Sunshine Thief curfew’s continued until May 28, 2021.15 However, in Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 the curfews made a return until January 17, 2022.14 When the Quebec government fully adopted the vaccine passports curfew was rolled back until cases went up again. Premier Legault panicked when cases rose and reset the curfews as a safety blanket for the failed vaccine passport.3 4 Quebec and Ontario had similar outbreaks, both being the most populous provinces, but Quebec had a slightly worse death rate5 6 especially among older persons that could be due to their slightly older population.7 Or both these provinces failed to protect elderly while minimizing harm to economy and our lives.
Looking at the data it is hard to make the case that the curfew had any effect. Based on their data covid continued until mid February then drop off and pick up again. Juxtaposed to the data graph from Ontario there appears to be a similar increase followed by lull in February and uptick in early (Ontario) or late (Quebec) March. But this crisis demanded swift action of rounding up the Jews in Montreal by the SPVM (Service de Police de la Ville de Montreal) which has a large Hasidic Jewish population that (as reported by Rebel News).8 The SPVM made Rebel News the story in March when their reporters got tickets (even though journalists was an exemption category) and were called, “médias juifs” (Jew Media) by several SPVM officers. Ezra Levant, a Jewish former lawyer from Alberta and ‘boss’ of Rebel News did not take kindly to his reporters being called, Jew media (as opposed to the CBC smear of ‘Far-right’ or ‘alt-right’ which is a method of calling Rebel News, there competitor, Nazi but avoid lawsuits).10
On location in Montreal Rebel news took a party of around 16 people to an Airbnb on a large yacht in Montreal Harbor on April 10th. CTV news covered the story as “Police breaking up gathering on boat for violating public health guidelines.” Rebel media was smeared as “far-right” and “no arrests were made”.11 Adam Kovac (the author) attempted to fit in as many lies and misinformation as he could to this short little dispatch
.
Instead, based on video by Rebel News, the police arrived in the morning before the crew had been able to go to the protests. The SPVM demanded to be allowed into the Airbnb yacht. When the rebel crew denied this request telling the SPVM officers to get a warrant. The police decided to try to distract Ezra Levant by getting his information and pressured younger staff to allow them onto the boat. When this failed the police designated the area as a crime scene and shop a warrant around for a judge. Begging, ‘please judge give the go ahead with no basis to search and harasses Rebel News’. The SPVM used this time to harass Rebel journalists to provoke trouble, while the SPVM refused to give their name/badge number. The SPVM arrested David Menzies and attempt to ransom his freedom for access to the yacht. When this again did not work, they were forced to give up their harassment and leave as no judge would sign their baseless warrant.12 13 Even if it were just inaction, the courts got it right for once. Former Rebel Staff member Keean Bexte alleged that the SPVM refused to allow him to access his medicine for extend period unless he allowed a police officer to go with him onto the boat.
